22 23 the Range that spring. After that we played out a bunch, had a few lineup changes, and went back into the studio to record our first full length album, our most recent release, Behind our Eyes. Speaking of Behind our Eyes, that’s a well- done album. I liked all the songs all the way through. What is the overall theme and emo- tion you want to convey with the album? A big focus for the band has always been men- tal health and mental health awareness. It’s something all the members of the band have dealt with in some way or another and it’s so - mething we hope to help others with through our music. We wanted to write songs that pe- ople could relate to, some about our perso- nal experiences, some that told the stories of friends, but all focusing on being real and genuine in the way we present the different topics. We spent a lot of time gathering infor- mation and resources for the lyrical content of the album, as well as vetting the lyrics through mental health professionals through connec- tions we’ve made with Nationwide Children’s Hospital here in Columbus. We wanted an al- bum that was real, and addressed difficult to - pics, but also wanted to put forward a sense of hope that things do get better. We wanted people to know that they aren’t alone in their struggles, but also that they aren’t doomed to carry these things forever. Wow!!! That is one of the most thought-out projects I have come across. Very admirable I must say. Now I must give props to the pro- duction of the album. It sounds amazing so the mixing and mastering is great. Is that so- mething you did in house or did you team up with someone special? We worked with a friend of ours named Will Carlson, who has been producing in Colum- bus for a few years now. He did all the mixing and mastering and did a phenomenal job. We
