September 2026

31 September is also a good month to re- connect with people. Call the friend you keep saying you need to see. Plan dinner with someone instead of exchanging another month of text messages. Invite a few people over. Attend a community event where you might actually meet someone new. Charlotte offers plenty of opportunities for that kind of connection. Markets, cultural festivals, workshops, concerts and neighborhood gatherings appear throughout September’s local calendars. The reset can happen at home too. Clear out something you no longer use. Fin- ish the project that has been sitting un- touched. Change a room. Organize your workspace. Take an evening away from your phone and give yourself permission to do absolutely nothing productive. Then consider what you still want from 2026. Maybe you wanted to become more active. Begin with walking. Perhaps you planned to support more local businesses. Choose one each week. If creativity disappeared somewhere be- tween work and responsibilities, pick up the camera, instrument, notebook or paintbrush again. The goal is not to transform your life before December. It is to become more intentional about how you spend the time that remains. Charlotte itself provides a fitting ex - ample. The city continues growing, opening businesses, creating events and finding new ways to bring people together. Center City reported mul- tiple new business announcements in Uptown and South End during the second quarter of 2026 alone. There is still plenty of year left. Four months can hold new friendships, new places, better habits, unfinished goals and unexpected experiences. Do not wait for January to begin again. Your reset can start right here, right now, in the Queen City. Photo by | Zetong Li
