29 And now we get to the main event. The powerhouse band so many of us grew up with, MÖTLEY F*&%IN’ CRÜE The band absolutely blew the roof off the place! This was a TRÜE rock concert! They played a mix of newer and classic songs, but my standouts included: But for me, the biggest treat of the entire night was a song I have loved forever but had never heard live. “PRIMAL SCREAM!” Holy crap! It was intense! It was magical! And it was played to perfection! For me, “Primal Scream” was the song of the night. I was feeling so incredibly giddy (yes, I wrote giddy) that I finally got to hear this amazing song played live! The Crüe is back! 41 years of rock ’n’ roll, and as Vince sings in Kickstart My Heart, “And I’d say we’re still kicking ass.” Vince, yes you are! I can’t end this without mentioning the visual production. The video screens, lighting, smoke, effects, and use of modern technology transformed this into much more than a concert. Mötley Crüe didn’t just come back to rock. They came back to give both longtime fans and a new generation a genuine taste of an ’80s/’90s rock concert. With all the lights, smoke, energy, attitude, and spectacle we remember, enhanced by today’s technology. It wasn’t just a listening feast. It was a visual one, too! Thank you, Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, and John 5. You didn’t just put on a concert.
