Thanks for working out some time to speak with us today Tayiha. We got to hear the track Lose Myself and loved it. Tell us more about yourself, where you’re from and how Lose Myself came to be. Hey, thank you guys for having me, I’m Tayiha a 16-year-old singer songwriter from Brisbane Australia and well I’ve been performing since before I could talk, and began to write music at the age of 8. But it wasn’t until I was 14 where I got a few originals professional produced. And it has been a reoccurring thing with me in and out of the studio up to now where I recently got another original ‘Lose myself ’ recorded and released with its music video a few weeks ago. Lose myself was written in the perspective of feeling drowned by all your problems around you but there is always that one person there to lift u at your lowest. It was very contrasting to those songs I released throughout the year which is something I admire about it. That’s wonderful. So, while dealing with pandemic issues did you find yourself needing a lift? The pandemic I feel put not only myself by many others in a different mental state however it did give me a lot more time for my song writing. How did the pandemic affect your ability to reach your fans? What did you do to adapt during that time? I thinkbeinginquarantineforsolongaffected my chances of performing shows and doing festivals and gigs, however it did allow me to focus on reaching my fans through social media and building a fan base that way. How would you describe the music scene in your area? Is there strong support for new music there? I do feel as though new music is intriguing for people where I live, there is a lot of hidden talent here. Now as a singer do you have any artists that inspire you? I have always looked up to many artists like Alicia keys whose music and writing ability has always inspired me as well as Florence + The Machine, Alessia Cara and Rihanna Great artists to draw from. Now if money is not an issue who would you like to perform with on stage and why? EitherEllieGouldingorLanaDelReyasthere both artist I admire for their stage presence. That would be an amazing show. Now as far as performing will you be doing any shows soon? Or is everything still locked down? I have a three hour gig this weekend for Father’s Day and a few festivals coming up soon which I am very excited about Wonderful well thanks so much once again for spending your morning with us.
