13 Daniel What’s a fun fact about you that people might not know? A fun fact about me is that I’m big into sports. I grew up in a sports family in which I grew up playing base- ball, football, and tennis. I actually played tennis in college for 2 years at Dalton State. Where are you from originally? I am from North Georgia originally from a town called Trenton, Ga but I was actually born in Chat- tanooga, TN. What inspired you to start playing music, and who were some of your early influences? My biggest influence in wanting me to play music was I wanted to be different from the rest of my sib - lings because they were into sports so l started play- ing saxophone in middle school and got into bass gui- tar in 9th grade with big musical influences like Blink 182, Deftones, Korn, and Stone Temple Pilots. How long have you been a member of Ashes Fall? I’ve been with Ashes Fall for about 2 years now. How would you describe Ashes Fall’s sound? I would describe our sound as melodic, crunchy, and riffy with modern rock and metal characteristics. What message or themes do you try to convey through your music? When we write our music, we always try to make songs that can relate to people in every way it can. We always try to send a positive message in our music so it influences people all over the world. If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why? If I could collaborate with any artist, it would be Prince because he was such an inspirational and tal- ented artist. I would love to work with Prince because he was creative with all his musical talent and song- writing. I would have loved to learn a lot from him. What’s been your most memorable moment on stage so far? My most memorable moment stage I have to say would probably be the fan interaction. The most amazing thing for me is seeing these young kids rock - ing out to our songs and looking up to me. I always try to be a great role model for the younger up-and- coming artists.
