11 a SIMPLE Shoot that hoLdS PowErfuL rESuLtS. All you need is A smAll spAce, A cArdboArd box, cereAl, A rinG liGht, A stool, your cAmerA And A model who is willinG to hAve fun! 1. cut the cardboard box down to head level. on one long side, cut out an area for the model to place her head and shoulders. have her lie down and make sure she is comfortable. use the extra box pieces to fill the bottom around your model’s head. this is to reduce cereal usage. 2. then the fun part, pour the cereal all-around your model’s head. fill as high or as lowas desired. 3. pat down so it is level. 4. i decided to use a ring light, but a studio strobe with a softbox will work just as well. set over the model and adjust to meet your light specifications. 5. take amoment todouble-check your setupbefore you start tophotograph. Again, it is important to sure your model is comfortable to achieve an honest look. 6. take a few test shots and check your work. 7. make any needed adjustments. in this session, the ring light was too high so i ended up lowering it to create a larger ring (catch light) in her eyes. 8. once everything looks good, it is time to have fun! have your model make different faces and shoot away. experiment with different looks utilizing the cereal to capture your individual goals. in this session, i took a handful of shots and this was the ‘winner!’ when done, the reward is eating the cereal!
