The next artist up was Dorothy. Known for her old-school sound but new-age flair, Dorothy ripped the place apart with a phenomenal setlist and a ton of energy. Kicking off her show with the high-ener- gy track Whiskey Fever, she got the par- ty going right away. The true mark of a great artist though was how she was able to hold the crowd as she went into slow- er songs such as Flawless and was able to rile the attendees back up again when she picked the pace back up with songs like Down to the Bottom. Photo by Steve Thrasher, Danny Wimmer Presents FollowingDorothy was Gojira, the French heavy metal titans that were the first truly huge band of the day. Performing under the cover of darkness and with a mini- malistic stage, they proved that all a band needs is heavy music to get the crowd going. Mixing in old school bangers like Stranded with new cuts such as Amazo- nia, their latest hit, the band whipped the crowd into a frenzy with gigantic mosh pits. Overall, the band had what might have been the best set of the day, and the synergistic energy between the crowd and the band made the show truly mem- orable. Photo by Steve Thrasher, Danny Wimmer Presents After Gojira was the Ocala, Florida-based metalcore and pop punk titans A Day To Remember. Being given a 75-minute set, the band had the crowd completely under their control as they played everything from old school tracks like 2nd Sucks to their latest hit, Last Chance to Dance. At different points in the show, lead singer Jeremy McKinnon encouraged the audi- ence to do different things such as getting girls up on shoulders during Have Faith In Me and forming circle pits during The Plot to Bomb the Panhandle, and the crowd instantly followed to make it truly one night to remember. Closing out their epic set, the band played two old school favorites, If It Means A Lot to You and The Downfall of Us All, and the crowd al- most started to drown out the band with singing of their own.
