To create a thrilling street circuit that could rival iconic races like the Grand Prix of Monaco — but with a Florida twist. The scenic route along the waterfront, downtown streets, and even a runway at Albert Whitted Airport imme- diately set it apart from traditional racetracks. It wasn’t just a race; it was an event that showcased the beauty and energy of St. Pete. But the road to becoming a motorsport icon wasn’t without its bumps. After the inau- gural race, the event hit financial troubles and was briefly put on hold. However, the passion for racing never wavered.
